It is expensive in Belgium but I bought it through ebay from a German seller. In Germany those things are much cheaper! And I have to tell you that I would not want to miss it anymore. It is a pleasure to work with. I use it all the time, especially with tricot. The upper fabric does not move differently at all! My opinion is that it is an investment worth your money. At the moment you can find on ebay such a foot : ebay object nr. 350289098627.Lieve Ongenaehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17031642770502910293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4681346101577849329.post-79750070331962651832010-02-12T07:37:07.577+01:002010-02-12T07:37:07.577+01:00Hi there. I know the couple personally and they are very helpful and reasonably priced. Their web address is http://sewingonline.co.uk/forsale/. I got it in October. Crazy, I know. Do you think you will really use it a lot? I don't want to make a bad purchase, even though the price for a foot is a bit shocking. The going Swedish retail price is around $200!! I have looked some more and they seem a little cheaper in UK, so I might order from there instead.

And Leslie: You are so kind! Unfortunately I can't take you up on the offer, since nothing worth over $30 will slip thru the rigid Swedish customs, and fiddling with the custom declarations is not quite legit! Broke on the 3rd use. I have a Bernina now (the 430) and I bought the walking foot when I bought the machine. I love that foot, and use it all the time with any fabric that looks like it might be even a little slippery. It's totally worth the money (I paid US$100 for mine during a sale.) Bernina feet are great, even if they are kind of expensive (I'm looking at buying 2 of them this week...)stitchywitchhttp://stitchywitch.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4681346101577849329.post-7864056192129682712010-02-03T20:33:44.031+01:002010-02-03T20:33:44.031+01:00I would say save up to buy a genuine Bernina walki...I would say save up to buy a genuine Bernina walking foot. It is worth it. Works tons better than the generic one I bought originally. I waited until they were doing a promotion at my local Bernina dealer (25% off). I see that our local dealership is having a 35% off sale on Sunday--I'm guessing that would make the price ~$115 US. If you'd like, I can pick one up and ship it to you. They give you an extensive list of compatible machines for most of the presser feet. It took them almost 4 weeks to fill my order so that wasn't so good but maybe you can use their site to find a compatible generic walking foot.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15283318998385718706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4681346101577849329.post-50981009643029790992010-02-03T19:23:20.704+01:002010-02-03T19:23:20.704+01:00I have been considering the same thing for my Bern...I have been considering the same thing for my Bernina but will probably not end up doing so. The reason is that I bought a ruffler (generic) off of eBay a few years ago and it broke 2 times (they replaced it once and the second time I gave up). Just my 2 cents. I've broken a few needles using it because the edge of the foot gets right under the needle sometimes. I won't invest in the specific walking foot for my machine because I don't use it often, and I can see replacing my machine in the next couple of years.

If your Bernina is The Machine For You, and you plan to hang onto it, I say drop the dough and get the walking foot that was designed for your machine.Antoinettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09398754886656482414noreply@blogger.com
