Managed to catch the last rays of sun yesterday evening so here are some photos of the newest addition in the Floremark collection.- the Dora top. It's made of organic cotton jersey and decorated with tiny doilies. The colour is deep blue and I would love to get some help in naming the colour in English. In Sweden this colour is called Kornblå (Cornflower Blue) or Kleinblå (Klein blue).
What would you guys call it?
Also the sleeves/cuffs are constructed in a fun way, that I will talk about in a separate post.
Dora is available in my Etsy shop.

So cute. Oh, it is definitely Klein blue (from Yves Klein, right?) but I guess a more general American name for that (at least what it looks like on my monitor) would be Cobalt blue.
ReplyDeleteI agree, in American English at least the color is cobalt.
ReplyDeleteIt's really pretty! Your collection on Etsy is looking really coherent - in terms of color, style and fabric. Good luck - I hope you sell a ton.
It looks like cobalt to me. The same color as the glaze or glass colored with cobalt.
ReplyDeleteColor names are difficult, with people not having the same frames of reference. Or language!
Super pretty! I love the white buttons. I would call it royal blue (on my monitor, at least), but I agree cobalt would also be a good descriptions. We have the term "cornflower blue" also, but it means a lighter shade.
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous! As always. Yes I agree with the colour name 'cobalt'. I would think of cornflower blue as a little lighter, as in, the colour of someone's vivid blue eyes. Could possibly also be royal blue, although that name always reminds me of my school uniform, which was called that, ugh!
ReplyDeleteCobalt would be more gnerally understood than Klein, which is basically the same color. Cornflower is much lighter and softer.
ReplyDeleteNice top :-). Ah, if Spring could only follow through..
Thank you guys for the help - cobalt blue it is!
ReplyDeleteA DORA ble!
ReplyDeleteI just happened upon your website and watched the slideshow of your sewing projects. Such a variety and all, lovely garments!
ReplyDeleteAdorable - very Anthropologie! I love it - Great job!
ReplyDeleteI think the color is almost a Royal Blue. . . But I agree with Cobalt Blue as well.
