The House of Eliott

The British tv-series House of Eliott was a big hit in Sweden in the early 90's. I am curious if it was a splash in other countries too? It is a classic BBC-drama in the spirit of The Forsyte Saga and The Onedin Line - fantastic actors, beautiful costumes, a lot of indoor studio shots and engaging story lines that runs over many episodes. The story is set in the 1920's and resolves around the two Eliott sisters, who after their father's death, decides to start a fashion house. I recently revisited the series, and it has really stood the test of time. This is a must see if you are fashion history buff, a large chunk of story line resolves around the clothes, but there are of course a lot of drama too! It is readily available on DVD.

Floremark fall ideas

Time (or the lack thereof) has been a huge issue lately. But as soon as I have finished the latest batch of Floremark orders and the bridal dress I plan to start working on some fall styles for Floremark. I have finalized the designs on two cardigans, one hooded jacket and one lace yoked cardigan. I want to do a third design to using a lovely grey organic cotton sweatshirt knit, but I have not found the right idea yet.

Summer in Greece

Yes I am back from Greece, at least in physical form. What can I say, the Greek archipelago is amazing. I can totally see now what the fuzz is about. Every village street is postcard picturesque, the landscape is breathtaking, the food delicious and the water is warm and clear.

We didn't book anything in advance, the only plan we had was a rough sketch on which islands we wanted to visit, the rest we made up as we went. Luckily we had no problems finding rooms and boat tickets so the trip was pretty hassle free, despite the minimal planning. We visited four islands, Naxos, Amorgos, Antiparos and Paros and they all had their own brand of charm, some were more touristy and some more rustic.

(a bit hungover from celebrating my 38th birthday the day before!)
